Hoi Yen Dieu Tri Cung, the Feast of the Holy Mother, is Cao Dai's major annual observance, held at the Tay Ninh Holy See on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, the same date as Vietnam's wider Mid-Autumn Festival. It honours the Holy Mother, the female divine principle in Cao Dai cosmology, alongside the Mother Buddha and her retinue of fairies. Alongside it, Cao Dai keeps smaller monthly rites on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month.
