A cassette, later reissued as a CD alongside its sequel "Chanting II," produced by the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle, Cornwall, Britain's principal Wicca and witchcraft heritage institution, home to the collections of Gerald Gardner, Doreen Valiente, Alex Sanders and Stewart and Janet Farrar. The nine chants (including "Lady Spin Your Circle Bright" and the traditional Wiccan parting phrase "Merry Meet") were originally recorded as the museum's own exhibition soundtrack, and the museum produced the cassette commercially after repeated visitor requests. Liz Crow and Heike Robertson collected the chants at Pagan camps and gatherings around the United Kingdom; the original composers of most individual pieces are not recorded.
