Southeast Asia and Oceania

Vietnam, officially the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, is the country at the eastern edge of Mainland Southeast Asia, bordered by China to the north and Laos and Cambodia to the west, with Hanoi as its capital. The source records states established in the first millennium BC on the Red River Delta, Chinese rule from 111 BC until the first dynasty emerged in 939, and successive dynasties that absorbed Chinese influences through Confucianism and Buddhism while expanding south to the Mekong Delta. Traditions, movements and rites are placed here when they arose in or belong to the country.
