Syncretises with says that one tradition absorbed beliefs or practices from another into a blended religious movement, such as Cao Dai's syncretism with Roman Catholicism, Confucianism and Taoism. Traditions fused into this reads the inverse: the older traditions a syncretic movement drew on.
