Bhakti Marga

Hindu Monastic Orders

Bhakti Marga is a neo-Hindu organization founded on June 13, 2005, in Frankfurt, Germany, by the Mauritius-born guru Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda, with its main headquarters now in Heidenrod, Hesse. It identifies its tradition as the Hari Bhakta Sampradaya, described as a combination of Vaishnava, Shaiva and Shakta philosophies, and its followers pursue devotion to Vishwananda alongside Hindu scripture through sadhana, or spiritual practice, encompassing ritual, meditation, devotional arts and scriptural study. The organization runs temples and festivals worldwide and by 2023 reported around 50,000 followers in more than 80 countries, with ordained members recognizable by distinctive colored robes marking their roles in the community.
