The present brick worship hall was completed in 1921 to replace an earlier building the growing congregation had outgrown, designed by the Japanese architect Nakamura Yoshihei during the Japanese colonial period; it is one of the relatively few major religious buildings from that period commissioned by a Korean new religious movement rather than by the colonial administration or an imported denomination. 1
