Slavic, Baltic and Steppe Pagan Art

Sacred artwork of the pre-Christian pagan religions of Slavic, Baltic and Turkic steppe peoples, grouped together because each survives in only a small number of attested objects rather than a large continuous tradition. Belongs here: a work whose subject is a Slavic idol such as the Zbruch Idol, or a Turkic steppe memorial inscription with religious content such as the Kul Tigin Stele and its Orkhon inscriptions. Does not belong here: Norse or continental Germanic pagan imagery, a related but separate mythology grouped under Norse and Germanic Art.
