A History of Global Anglicanism

Kevin Ward's A History of Global Anglicanism, Cambridge University Press, 2006, is the standard academic history of the Anglican Communion's formation from the sixteenth century to the present, covering the growth of colonial dioceses such as Charles Inglis's 1787 consecration as the first colonial bishop, at Nova Scotia, through the first Lambeth Conference of 1867 that gathered bishops from across the empire as a single, self-aware family of churches.
