American Baptist Publication Society (Wikipedia)

Wikipedia's dedicated article on the American Baptist Publication Society, founded 1824 in Washington, D.C. as the Baptist General Tract Society, renamed the American Baptist Publication Society by 1844, and connected to both the Southern Baptist Convention (founded 1845) and the Triennial Convention neutrally until 1897, when secretary A. J. Rowland's public criticism of Southern Baptist publishers ended that relationship; the Society then remained connected exclusively to the Triennial Convention, later reorganized as the Northern Baptist Convention (1907), renamed the American Baptist Convention (1950) and American Baptist Churches USA (1972).
