Common Christological Declaration between the Catholic Church and the Assyrian Church of the East

This is the actual 1994 Common Christological Declaration signed jointly by Pope John Paul II and Mar Dinkha IV, the Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, resolving centuries of formal Christological dispute between the two churches that trace back to the ancient controversy over Nestorius. As the primary ecumenical instrument itself, agreed and signed by both church leaders, it is the correct and authoritative source for the declaration's own actual text and terms. Its limit is exactly that it is the agreement itself rather than independent theological or historical analysis, so it tells a reader precisely what the two churches agreed to affirm together but says little on its own about the centuries of prior dispute leading up to it or the declaration's reception within each church's own wider communion, both of which need an independent historian's or theologian's account alongside the text itself.
