Ephrem the Syrian: Select Poems, Sebastian P. Brock and George A. Kiraz's 2006 critical translation from Brigham Young University Press, Eastern Christian Texts 2, presents twenty of Ephrem's poems in vocalized Syriac with a facing English translation, along with the melody model headings the manuscripts themselves carry. Its strength is that it is the only edition of Ephrem featuring vocalized Serto script facing a translation, by Brock, a leading Oxford scholar of Syriac, and Kiraz, founder of Gorgias Press and the Beth Mardutho Syriac Institute, confirmed against the book's own publisher listing. Its limit is that it is a selection of twenty poems from Ephrem's vast corpus; a claim about a hymn outside this selection needs a different edition of his work.
