Two records held together: UNESCO's own Intangible Cultural Heritage record for "Royal ancestral ritual in the Jongmyo shrine and its music" (RL/00016, inscribed 2008, originally proclaimed 2001), whose own text states "The Jongmyo Shrine in Seoul is the setting for a Confucian ritual" and describes the music as played "on traditional instruments, such as gongs, bells, lutes, zithers and flutes"; and the City of Seoul's own official tourism record, whose own text states "The Jeongjeon rite follows Confucian custom" and names the accompanying music, Jongmyo Jeryeak, Cultural Property No. 1, as invented under King Sejong and adopted under King Sejo, performed with instrumental music, the Jongmyo Akjang songs and two ceremonial dances.
