Peter Alan Roberts is a scholar and translator of Tibetan Buddhist texts, and this Wisdom Publications volume in the Library of Tibetan Classics series gathers his translations of Kagyu Mahamudra and Six Yogas source texts, the selection guided by the Kagyu scholar Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Its strength is direct translation of primary Kagyu texts across several of its sub lineages, prepared for an academic translation series. Its limit is that it presents the tradition's own instructional and biographical literature in translation rather than an outside historian's independent study of the school, so a claim needing critical distance from the tradition's own account needs a further source.
