Al-Farhud: The 1941 Pogrom in Iraq, edited by Shmuel Moreh and Zvi Yehuda, both of them survivors of the pogrom who devoted much of their scholarly careers to documenting the history of Iraqi Jewry, gathers specialist essays on the Farhud's background in Nazi propaganda and Palestinian incitement, its course over the two days of violence, and its place in the end of the Jewish community of Iraq, together with a documented list of victims and maps. Published by the Hebrew University's Magnes Press for the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism, it is the most detailed scholarly treatment of the episode.
