Ordinance XX of 1984 is the Government of Pakistan's own legislative instrument restricting Ahmadiyya religious practice. Its strength is that it is the primary legal text itself, the actual instrument whose provisions are described elsewhere in the atlas, not a secondary account of it. Its limit is the ordinary one for any single piece of legislation: it states the law's own terms, not an independent scholarly or human rights account of its effects on the Ahmadiyya community, which belongs in sources written from outside the government that enacted it.
