Papyri Graecae Magicae: Die griechischen Zauberpapyri, edited by Karl Preisendanz and published by B. G. Teubner in Leipzig across two volumes in 1928 and 1931, is the standard critical edition of the Greek magical papyri, and it is the source of the PGM numbering system still used to cite these texts today. As the originating critical edition it is the correct source for that numbering and for the codicological facts of which papyrus carries which spell. Its limit is that it is cited here strictly for the numbering and cataloguing it established, not quoted directly, so a claim about the actual content or translated wording of a specific spell needs a source that engages the text itself rather than this edition's apparatus alone.
