The PCA Historical Center, the Presbyterian Church in America's own denominational archive, publishes this dated account of the 5 June 1837 General Assembly vote that abrogated the 1801 Plan of Union and expelled four largely New School synods, twenty eight presbyteries, five hundred nine ministers and sixty thousand members, from the Presbyterian Church.
