Pseudomonarchia Daemonum is Johann Weyer's own sixteenth century demon catalogue, a primary text listing sixty nine named demons; the commonly repeated count of seventy two is a later, seventeenth century harmonization with the separate Shem HaMephorash tradition, not what Weyer himself wrote, and this atlas states that distinction plainly rather than repeating the more familiar but inaccurate number. The year recorded here, 1577, is when the catalogue was added as an appendix to the fifth edition of Weyer's parent work, not the 1563 date of that parent work's first edition, a correction made after checking the printing history directly. Use it for what Weyer's own catalogue actually says; a claim about the later seventy two name tradition needs a separate, later source.

Assessment
Reliability Tier1
Johann Weyer's own sixteenth century primary text, a demon catalogue of sixty nine named entries later expanded to seventy two by a separate seventeenth century tradition, cited here for what Weyer himself wrote. NotesLists 69 demons; 72 is a seventeenth-century harmonisation to the Shem HaMephorash count. Year corrected from 1563 to 1577: 1563 is the first edition of the parent work, De Praestigiis Daemonum; the demon catalogue was added as an appendix to the fifth edition in 1577.
