R (Hodkin) v Registrar General of Births, Deaths and Marriages [2013] UKSC 77, the UK Supreme Court's decision of 11 December 2013, held that a Church of Scientology chapel could be registered for marriages, departing from the earlier ruling in R v Registrar General, ex parte Segerdal [1970] 2 QB 697.
