The quoted By-Law text states: "A member in good standing is one whose stewardship pledge is fulfilled each year. Only members in good standing can vote at meetings. Should a member without sufficient cause refuse to fulfill his pledge each year, such a person shall cease to be a member in good standing and shall lose all rights and privileges thereof." The same page also states a pastoral practice softening that formal consequence: a member who cannot meet a pledge due to genuine hardship is asked to contact the Dean and states plainly "no one will be chasing or embarrassing you."
