The Jerusalem Statement (GAFCON)

GAFCON: Global Anglicans

GAFCON's own page presenting the Jerusalem Declaration, issued at the Global Anglican Future Conference held in Jerusalem from 22 to 29 June 2008. The Declaration states its participants' purpose as freeing their churches to give clear witness to the gospel, sets out fourteen tenets of orthodoxy, and states that the time was ripe for a new province in North America, the basis the Anglican Church in North America organised from the following year.

Facts
Assessment
Reliability Tier
2
A primary institutional document published by the movement that produced it, tier 2 for authorship of its own founding text; used only for the declaration's own date, location and stated call for a new North American province, not for any outside characterisation of the schism.
Notes
Used for the 2008 GAFCON Jerusalem conference's dates and the Declaration's own stated call for a North American province, the background the 2009 ACNA founding event names.
