Hugo Huber's The Krobo, published as volume sixteen of Studia Instituti Anthropos by the Anthropos Institute in 1963, is a scholarly ethnography of the traditional social and religious life of the Adangme-speaking Krobo of southeastern Ghana, based on six years of fieldwork. Its strength is that its length and duration of fieldwork make it an unusually thorough documentary record for its period, still cited as a standard reference on Krobo social structure. Its limit is that it documents practice as observed at mid-twentieth century, so a claim about Krobo religious life today needs a more recent source alongside this study.
