The Science of Mind

The Science of Mind is Ernest Holmes's own foundational textbook of Religious Science, first published in 1926 and revised by Holmes himself in 1938, setting out the New Thought based metaphysical system he founded. As the founder's own text it is the correct primary source for what Religious Science originally taught, in Holmes's own words, rather than a later restatement by his followers. Its limit is exactly that status, it is a practitioner founder's own statement of a system he was actively building and promoting, drawing on his own synthesis of earlier New Thought writers rather than independent historical or scientific verification, so a claim about Religious Science's actual historical origins and influences needs a scholarly source on the wider New Thought movement alongside this founding text.
