The Seven Fundamental Tenets

The Seven Fundamental Tenets, published by The Satanic Temple with no single recorded date of adoption since the statement has been in public use since the organization's founding period from 2013 onward, is the organization's own foundational statement of principles, covering compassion, personal bodily autonomy, scientific reasoning and the rejection of tyranny among its seven points. Its strength is that it is the organization's own primary statement of what it holds, the correct source for describing Satanic Temple belief in its own terms rather than through outside characterization. Its limit is exactly that: it is a self-description by an advocacy organization rather than an independent or scholarly account, so a claim about how the Temple's stated tenets compare with older esoteric or religious Satanism, or about how courts and the public have received the organization's activism, needs an independent source addressing that comparison or reception directly.
