Klaus P. Kuhlmann's Das Ammoneion, published through the German Archaeological Institute in Cairo in 1988 and recorded in the source register under its English working title, The Temple of the Oracle at Siwa Oasis, is the scholarly archaeological study of the Temple of Amun at Siwa Oasis in Egypt's Western Desert, the oracle famously consulted by Alexander the Great in 331 BCE, based on Kuhlmann's own excavation and survey of the site. Its strength is that it is a specialist institutional excavation report from a body with a long record of Egyptological fieldwork, giving direct physical evidence for the temple's structure and history. Its limit is that as a German language excavation report it is written for a specialist archaeological audience, so a claim about the oracle's specific pronouncements or ritual procedure needs a separate ancient literary source, since Kuhlmann's study documents the building rather than the oracle's own words.
