Neal Vahle's The Unity Movement, Templeton Foundation Press, 2002, is a scholarly history. Its strength is that it traces the Unity movement's evolution and teachings across its full history with independent research rather than the movement's own promotional account. Its limit is the ordinary one for a single historical synthesis of one religious movement: it is one author's account, not the product of a wider scholarly literature the way better studied traditions have.
