Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa's sixteenth century synthesis of Renaissance hermeticism, natural magic, astrology and kabbalah, one of the foundational texts of the later Western esoteric tradition. This record cites the primary text itself, Agrippa's own account, rather than any specific scholarly edition of it, and holds it as the tradition's own foundational statement: it documents what Renaissance occult philosophy actually taught, not that any of its claims are true. Use it to establish what Agrippa's system held and how later ceremonial magic drew on it. It is not a standalone authority on the older classical, Jewish or Arabic traditions it draws upon, each of which needs its own dedicated scholarship where a claim concerns them specifically rather than Agrippa's synthesis of them.

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa's own sixteenth century treatise on natural magic, astrology, kabbalah and ceremonial magic, cited here as the tradition's own foundational statement rather than as independent evidence that any of its claims are true.
Notes
A primary text: Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa's 16th-century synthesis of Renaissance hermeticism, natural magic, astrology, kabbalah and ceremonial magic, foundational to the later Western esoteric tradition. Use it to document what Renaissance occult philosophy taught and how later ceremonial magic drew on it, not as evidence that any of its claims are true and not as a standalone authority on older traditions it draws on (classical, Jewish or Arabic sources), which should be cited to their own scholarship where a claim concerns them specifically.
