The first English translation of al-Waqidi's Kitab al-Maghazi, one of the two foundational classical accounts of Muhammad's campaigns, compiled in the late eighth century. Rizwi Faizer's Routledge translation carries a scholarly introduction co-written with Andrew Rippin. Alongside Ibn Ishaq's earlier biography, already carried in Guillaume's translation, it is one of the two texts modern accounts of Badr and Uhud draw their reported casualty figures from.
