Zone Therapy is the 1917 book by physician William H. Fitzgerald and Edwin F. Bowers, the founding published statement of zone therapy, the direct historical precursor of what is now known as reflexology. As the originators' own text it is the correct primary source for what this practice originally claimed, in the words of the people who actually proposed it, rather than a later practitioner restatement. Its limit is exactly that origin, it is a practitioner's own case for a new therapeutic system published in 1917, built on the authors' own clinical impressions rather than controlled trials, so a claim about reflexology's actual physiological effects needs modern clinical research rather than this founding but pre-scientific text, and a claim about the technique's later twentieth century development needs a more recent source as well.
