The Haitian zombi, a person whose soul is said to have been captured and body enslaved by a sorcerer, rather than a corpse reanimated by its own power. The category preserves the Vodou concept of soul capture on its own terms instead of folding it into the reanimated dead, where the mechanism is different. Excludes revenants and other self acting reanimated corpses.
