Judaism Routes

Judaism routes are the pilgrimage paths undertaken specifically within Jewish practice and history, distinct from routes that happen to cross land also significant to Judaism without being walked as a Jewish rite. The three annual pilgrimage festivals, when Temple-era practice required a journey to Jerusalem, sit behind much of what is gathered here, along with routes to graves and shrines venerated in later diaspora tradition. Interfaith routes touching Jewish sites among others are filed under a shared cross-traditional grouping instead.
