The sacred sites of Hoa Hao Buddhism, a Vietnamese Buddhist reform movement founded by Huynh Phu So in the Mekong Delta in 1939, emphasizing lay practice, simplified ritual and direct scripture reading over monastic institutions and elaborate temple worship. Its founding temple, To Dinh, the Sacred Ancestral Temple in Phu Tan District, An Giang Province, remains the religion's primary organizational and devotional site today, standing at the center of a following still concentrated in the Mekong Delta region where the movement began.
