Seventh-day Adventist sites are held apart from the broader Christian grouping because Adventism's own institutional history, its nineteenth century Millerite origins, its distinct Sabbath observance and its General Conference structure, gives its sacred geography a shape that does not reduce to generic Protestant Christianity. A site here is significant specifically to Adventist history or practice rather than to Christianity considered without denomination. This follows the same logic that already separates Latter-day Saint and Roman Catholic sites from the general Christian entry.
