Pseudepigrapha

Works attributed to a figure who did not write them, usually a patriarch or an apostle long dead by the time of composition. Pseudepigrapha is already a plural in English and takes no further s. The attribution is not treated here as a forgery but as a convention of the literature, and the question worth asking of each work is what the borrowed name was meant to carry to its readers.
