The Juxtaposition Cross of Innocence is named for Gate 25 and Gate 46. Human Design reads Gate 25, from Hexagram 25, Innocence, sitting in the G or Identity centre, as an innocence that places universal love above any particular attachment; and Gate 46, from Hexagram 46, Pushing Upward, sitting in the same centre, as love of the body, together with a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time. Juxtaposition Crosses form their own family, belonging only to the four line one profile, and Human Design reads them as the tightest, least steerable of the three kinds.
Its design half is Gate 58 and Gate 52. Gate 58 sits in the Root and is read as vitality and the joy of being alive, a pressure that expresses itself as the urge to improve whatever is at hand; it pairs with Gate 18 in the channel of Judgement. Gate 52 sits in the Root and is read as stillness, a pressure that concentrates rather than releases; it pairs with Gate 9 in the channel of Concentration.
So a chart carrying this cross loves impersonally and loves the body at once on its surface, while beneath it a restless urge to improve answers to a stillness that holds it in place. The same four gates also underlie the Cross of Serendipity and the Left Angle Cross of Healing under both its orderings. The hexagrams are ancient; grouping them into one fixed cross is the modern system's own construction.
