The Juxtaposition Cross of Strategy is named for Gate 59 and Gate 55. Human Design reads Gate 59, from Hexagram 59, Dispersion, sitting in the Sacral centre, as the energy that breaks down barriers between people, treated by the system as sexual and reproductive as well as social; and Gate 55, from Hexagram 55, Abundance, sitting in the Solar Plexus, as an emotional weather swinging between melancholy and abundance for reasons the person cannot usually name. Juxtaposition Crosses stand apart from the other two families, tied only to the four line one profile, and are read as the most fixed direction the system names.
Its design half is Gate 16 and Gate 9. Gate 16 sits in the Throat and is read as enthusiasm refined by repetition into real skill; it pairs with Gate 48 in the channel of the Wavelength. Gate 9 sits in the Sacral centre and is read as the energy of focus, attending to the small details a larger idea depends on; it pairs with Gate 52 in the channel of Concentration.
So a chart carrying this cross dissolves barriers on a mood driven surface, while beneath it a proven skill answers to close attention on small detail. The same four gates also underlie the Cross of Moods and the Left Angle Cross of Spirit under both its orderings. The hexagrams are ancient; sealing them into one fixed cross is the modern system's own construction.
