The Right Angle Cross of Consciousness, in this ordering, is named for Gate 35 and Gate 5 rather than Gate 63 and Gate 64, the same four gates as its mirror cross with the personality and design roles exchanged. Its first article reads that exchange as a restless hunger for progress meeting a Head that cannot rest either. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this ordering draws on exactly the same four Quarters as its mirror, one gate from each.
Gate 35, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Gate 5, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation. Behind them, Gate 63 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind, and Gate 64 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding.
So the hunger for progress and the fixed rhythm the first article reads on this ordering's surface answer to the arcs of form and transformation, while the doubt and the unresolved confusion beneath them answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, the same four arcs its mirror cross draws on with personality and design simply reversed. Reversing which gate carries the Sun changes what the cross is read to serve, but it changes nothing about which Quarters supply its four gates.
