Laws, a Story Told Within Accepted Limits

The Right Angle Cross of Laws is named for Gate 56 and Gate 60. Human Design reads Gate 56, from Hexagram 56, The Wanderer, as the one who stimulates others with ideas drawn from experience, paired elsewhere with Gate 11 in the channel of Curiosity, and Gate 60, from Hexagram 60, Limitation, as the acceptance of limitation as the ground real change grows from. It belongs to the Right Angle family, the largest of the system's three, read as a personal destiny that answers mainly to the individual's own choices.

Its design half is Gate 3 and Gate 50. Gate 3 sits in the Sacral centre and is read as the energy to bring order out of the confusion that attends anything genuinely new; it pairs with Gate 60 in the channel of Mutation. Gate 50 sits in the Spleen and is read as values, the instinctive sense of responsibility that guards a group and decides its rules; it pairs with Gate 27 in the channel of Preservation.

So the cross reads a storyteller's stimulation, Gate 56, against an accepted limit, Gate 60, on the surface, while beneath it a Sacral pressure to order a new beginning answers to a guarded set of values. Gate 60 and the design's Gate 3 are in fact the two ends of one channel, Mutation, so what the surface accepts as a limit is exactly what the unconscious half is pressing to begin against. The hexagrams are ancient; grouping them into one incarnation cross is the modern system's own construction.
