The Right Angle Cross of the Four Ways, in this ordering, exposes Gate 19 and Gate 33, community need ahead of private withdrawal. Its first article reads Gate 19 as sensitivity to what a community needs, whether resources, shelter or closeness, and Gate 33 as the need to withdraw and hold an experience privately before telling it as something learned. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this ordering draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 19, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation. Gate 33, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Behind them, Gate 44 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding, and Gate 24 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind.
So the felt need of the community and the private withdrawal the first article reads on this ordering's surface answer to the arcs of transformation and form, while the instinctive memory for people and patterns and the mind that circles back to sense beneath them answer to the arcs of bonding and mind, the same four arcs the rest of the Four Ways family draws on however its two pairs are assigned and ordered. Exchanging which gate carries the Sun changes what this variant puts forward, but not which Quarters supply its four gates.
