Tsukinamisai is Tenrikyo's monthly service, held on the twenty sixth of every month at the Jiba in Tenri, commemorating the twenty sixth of October 1838, the day the faith holds that God the Parent first spoke through Nakayama Miki. It is the largest regular gathering in the Tenrikyo calendar.

Observance
Observance NoteSourced to the subject's own accountUnder pre-war government pressure to conform to State Shinto orthodoxy, Tenrikyo altered parts of the service and its accompanying songs for decades rather than state its founder's teaching in full, a period the faith itself now refers to as the era of hidden teachings; the fuller original form was restored to the monthly service only after 1945, when the postwar constitution ended the state's power to dictate a new religion's liturgy. 1 Cross-Tradition Connections
