Juxtaposition Cross of Assimilation (23/43)

The Juxtaposition Cross of Assimilation is named for Gate 23 and Gate 43, which are in fact the two ends of one channel, Structuring, so its exposed half is not two separate pressures but one whole circuit. Human Design reads Gate 23, from Hexagram 23, Splitting Apart, sitting in the Throat, as the voice that turns a strange individual insight into language other people can take in; and Gate 43, from Hexagram 43, Breakthrough, sitting in the Ajna, as the sudden inner knowing that arrives whole and resists easy explanation. Juxtaposition Crosses stand apart from the other two families, tied only to the four line one profile, and are read as the most fixed direction the system names.

Its design half is Gate 29 and Gate 30. Gate 29 sits in the Sacral centre and is read as a yes that, once given, perseveres to the end whatever the cost; it pairs with Gate 46 in the channel of Discovery. Gate 30 sits in the Solar Plexus and is read as the longing and intensity of feeling that pulls a person into experience; it pairs with Gate 41 in the channel of Recognition.

So a chart carrying this cross has its own insight and its own telling of it sealed into a single channel on the surface, while beneath it a committed perseverance answers to an unresolved longing. The same four gates recur reversed as the Juxtaposition Cross of Insight and, in the Left Angle family, as the Cross of Dedication, whose own reversal is a further arrangement of the same set. The hexagrams are ancient; sealing them into one fixed cross is the modern system's own construction.

Gate 23, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Gate 43, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation. Behind them, Gate 30 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind, and Gate 29 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding.

So the individual insight turned into language and the sudden whole knowing the first article reads on this cross's surface, sealed into one channel, answer to the arcs of form and transformation, while the longing that pulls a person into experience and the committed perseverance beneath them answer to the arcs of mind and bonding. The same pair, exchanged, is this cross's own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Insight, and, held instead in the Left Angle family, the Cross of Dedication, both orderings; the Right Angle family carries the identical pair too, as the Cross of Explanation, both orderings. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel rather than concentrated in one.
