Left Angle Cross of Healing (46/25)

The Left Angle Cross of Healing is named for Gate 46 and Gate 25, both seated in the G, or Identity, centre. Human Design reads Gate 46, from Hexagram 46, Pushing Upward, as a love of the body and a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time; and Gate 25, from Hexagram 25, Innocence, as an innocence that places universal love above any particular attachment. It falls in the Left Angle family, read as transpersonal, a direction answering less to what the individual chooses than to what circumstance hands back.

Its design half is Gate 52 and Gate 58, both seated in the Root. Gate 52 is read as a stillness that concentrates rather than releases, holding a person in place long enough for perspective to form; it pairs with Gate 9 in the channel of Concentration. Gate 58 is read as vitality and the joy of being alive, expressed as an urge to improve whatever is at hand; it pairs with Gate 18 in the channel of Judgement.

So a chart carrying this cross holds a surface of bodily love and impersonal innocence over an Identity centre, while beneath it a Root pair presses stillness against the urge to improve, concentration meeting correction. The hexagrams are ancient texts; grouping four of them into one transpersonal cross naming healing is the modern system's own construction, dated to 1987.

So the love of the body and the impersonal innocence the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of bonding and mind, while a concentrating stillness and a vitality that wants to improve beneath them answer to the arcs of form and transformation, the same four arcs the cross's own reversal, Gate 25 over Gate 46, will draw on again however its two pairs are assigned to personality and design. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
