This article records tradition as it has been passed down and reported. Its sources are not yet part of the atlas's verified catalogue.
The Right Angle Cross of Laws completes its four role arrangements with this ordering, Gate 3 and Gate 50 exposed, the pressure to begin ahead of guarded responsibility. Its first article reads Gate 3 as the pressure to bring order out of a genuinely new start, and Gate 50 as the instinctive sense of responsibility that guards a group and decides its rules. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 3, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Gate 50, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Behind them, Gate 60 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation, and Gate 56 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form.
So the pressure to begin and the guarded responsibility the first article reads on this ordering's surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the acceptance of limits and the storyteller's stimulation beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form, the same four arcs the rest of the Laws family draws on however its two pairs are assigned to personality and design. With this fourth arrangement in place, every role rotation of Laws's two gate pairs shares the same wheel wide spread, one gate from each Quarter regardless of order.
