The Right Angle Cross of Maya carries the same two gate pairs as the Cross of Maya above with personality and design exchanged, Gate 42 and Gate 32 now the more exposed pair. Human Design reads Gate 42, from Hexagram 42, Increase, sitting in the Sacral centre, as the energy to carry a process through to its natural end; and Gate 32, from Hexagram 32, Duration, sitting in the Spleen, as the instinct for what will last. It sits in the Right Angle family, the most populous of the three, and Human Design reads that family as steered chiefly by personal choice.

Its design half is Gate 61 and Gate 62, also exchanged. Gate 61 sits in the Head and is read as the pressure to know the mystery behind existence; it pairs with Gate 24 in the channel of Awareness. Gate 62 sits in the Throat and is read as detail, the organising of facts into a spoken order; it pairs with Gate 17 in the channel of Acceptance.

Putting the finishing instinct ahead of practical detail changes what this cross puts forward first, while the same unanswerable mystery and naming of facts sit beneath it regardless of order.
