The Right Angle Cross of Maya carries the same two gate pairs as the Cross of Maya above with personality and design exchanged, Gate 42 and Gate 32 now the more exposed pair. Its first article reads Gate 42 as the energy to carry a process through to its natural end, and Gate 32 as the instinct for what will last. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 42, the personality gate, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Gate 32, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Behind them, Gate 61 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation, and Gate 62 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form.
So the drive to finish and the caution about lasting the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the pressing after mystery and the naming of facts beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form. Putting the finishing instinct ahead of practical detail changes what this cross puts forward first, but the wheel's own arithmetic still supplies one gate from each of its four Quarters, the same spread as every other role arrangement of the same two pairs.
