Right Angle Cross of Rulership (22/47)

The Right Angle Cross of Rulership carries the same pair as the Left Angle Cross of Informing, Gate 22 and Gate 47. Human Design reads Gate 22, from Hexagram 22, Grace, sitting in the Solar Plexus, as grace and social openness, a charm that flows or withdraws with the emotional wave; and Gate 47, from Hexagram 47, Oppression, sitting in the Ajna, as realisation, a mind working over confusion until sense arrives of itself. It falls in the Right Angle family, and practitioners describe that group as the personal one, a direction shaped by what the individual decides.

Its design half is Gate 26 and Gate 45. Gate 26 sits in the Heart or Will centre and is read as the persuader, a willed salesmanship that can market and, unchecked, exaggerate; it pairs with Gate 44 in the channel of Surrender. Gate 45 sits in the Throat and is read as the gatherer, the voice that holds and distributes a group's resources; it pairs with Gate 21 in the channel of Money.

So a chart carrying this cross charms and waits on sense on its surface, while beneath it a persuading voice already holds and distributes what the group has. The same two gate pairs also underlie three further role arrangements, all of them Crosses of Rulership. The hexagrams are ancient; grouping four of them into one personal cross is the modern system's own construction, dated to 1987.

Gate 22, the personality gate, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Gate 47, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Behind them, Gate 26 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation, and Gate 45 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form.

So the conditional grace and the unresolved mind the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the persuading will and the gathered voice beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: the Rulership this cross is named for draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
