The Anand Akhara, also spelled Ananda Akhara, is a Shaivite monastic order affiliated with the Niranjani Akhara as a subsidiary, and is counted as the second oldest of the akharas. Tradition holds it was revived in 855, and its ascetics are devoted to the sun god, worshipped here as Dev Bhuwan Bhaskar Suryanarayan. Its headquarters is in Nashik, Maharashtra, with additional ashrams across the country.
