The Augustinian Province of England and Scotland is the administrative unit of the Order of Saint Augustine covering England and Scotland, encompassing all the Augustinian works carried out in those two countries. The wider Order was created in the thirteenth century on the Rule of St. Augustine of Hippo, and the Province traces its first English foundation to 1248, when Richard de Clare, Earl of Gloucester and Hertford, gave Augustinian friars from Normandy land at Clare, Suffolk, to establish Clare Priory. As of 2024 the Province maintains four active communities across the United Kingdom, with about twenty friars engaged in chaplaincy and other ministries.
