Origin from 1902
The Brothers of Our Lady of the Fields (French: Freres de Notre Dame des Champs) were a small Canadian Roman Catholic congregation active between 1902 and 1930. It was founded in 1902 by Joseph-Onesime Brousseau at St-Damien de Buckland, Quebec, to train orphans in agricultural and industrial skills as part of Brousseau's vision of rural development and the retention of French-Canadian Catholics in Quebec. The congregation remained small throughout its existence and was merged into the Clerics of St. Viator in 1931.
