Buddha's Light International Association

Buddha's Light International Association, known as BLIA, is a lay Buddhist organization founded by Hsing Yun in 1992 in association with Fo Guang Shan, the largest Buddhist organization in Taiwan. BLIA received non-governmental organization status from the United Nations in 2003, giving it consultative standing with the Economic and Social Council and the UN Department of Public Information, and its world headquarters operates from the grounds of the Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights, California, with temples, cultural centers and educational institutions reaching across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
