The Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan, are a Roman Catholic religious institute of pontifical right dedicated to the spiritual and corporal works of mercy, formally established on 1 September 1973 following renewal initiatives after the Second Vatican Council, after an experimental community had formed in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1970 from four sisters who had studied Mercy spirituality in 1966. The congregation recognizes Catherine McAuley as its foundress and professes vows of poverty, chastity and obedience alongside a fourth vow of service, working predominantly in education and healthcare from its motherhouse in Alma, Michigan, with a presence extending to Germany, Australia and Italy. By 2025 the congregation counted 115 members, and Sister Mary Prudence Allen was appointed to Pope Francis's International Theological Commission in 2014.
